National Reconciliation Action week 2020 Quizzes

19 May 2020

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The dates for NRW remain the same each year: 27 May to 3 June. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey: the successful 1967 referendum; and the High Court Mabo decision.

Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Traditionally, you would be encouraged to hold an event during NRW and highlight your actions and achievements in reconciliation. However; this year we need to look at more creative ways in how we celebrate and learn due to COVID-19.

We welcome our new Aboriginal health and wellbeing programs officer Karina Crutch who has developed two quizzes for you and your practice to do as a team or individually, or as a promotional tool during NRW.

Quiz 1 and Quiz 2 attached.

Answers can be obtained by emailing  prior to 27 May. Karina can assist you to access and use these quizzes on your own websites and social media during NRW. The answers will also be published in the June 3 edition of Sydney Health Weekly.
