Data Breach Action Plan – a new guide for health service providers

12 March 2020

Do you know what to do if information held by your organisation is compromised, lost, or accessed or disclosed without authorisation?
A new Data Breach Action Plan is now available to guide organisations through the relevant steps, should such a situation arise. Health service providers should use this four-step plan to contain and manage a data breach involving personal information, including information relating to the My Health Record system.

The plan has been developed by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, Australian Digital Health Agency, Australian Cyber Security Centre and Services Australia (formerly known as Department of Human Services).
For more information, visit the Data breach action plan for health service providers page on the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner’s website.
