The Think, Eat and Move Program (TEAM)

From September 2018, an innovative new approach to adolescent weight management will be available for young people aged 13 - 17 years who are above a healthy weight.

The Think, Eat and Move Program (TEAM) is a free eight week program delivered via interactive online sessions and weekly health professional phone coaching.

The TEAM Program is an evidence based approach to weight management that focuses on three key components known to be effective in weight management: nutrition, behaviour change and physical activity. Designed by dietitians, health psychologists and exercise professionals, TEAM provides practical tools and information designed to improve nutrition and healthy lifestyle behaviours, increase physical activity and reduce sedentary activity. Extensive supporting resources (including a wearable fitness tracker) will be delivered to all participants.

CESPHN has commissioned the Better Health Company to provide the service for over 250 adolescents by June 2019. The Better Health Company is also the provider of the NSW Go4FUN program.

Health professionals can register eligible participants by returning the referral form by fax or email (details provided on the form) or by calling the TEAM registration line on 1300 899 736. Eligible participants must be between the ages of 13-17 years, above a healthy weight and live, study or work in the Central and Eastern Sydney catchment area.

Participants can also self refer via the program website or by calling the registration line. Eligibility is assessed by evaluation of registration data.

Health professionals are encouraged to discuss the program with appropriate participants.
