2017 Strategic Planning Workshop

Our 2017 Strategic Planning Workshop took place on Saturday 21 January 2017 at Charles Perkins Centre, University of Sydney. The workshop provided a unique opportunity for our key stakeholders to join together in one place and brainstorm as we continue to refine the strategic direction of our organisation. It was pleasing to see so many in attendance on a Saturday morning, as we work towards supporting, strengthening and shaping a world class person centred primary health care system.

A lively panel discussion set the scene, allowing representatives from our allied health, community, general practice, and hospital networks, as well as our LHDs, to discuss areas of potential opportunity for the PHN to direct focus. Presentations on the person centred medical neighbourhood and NDIS project followed and were well received by participants.

During the second half of the day attendees examined the 15 health needs of our community as identified in the baseline needs assessment. Participants were given the opportunity to workshop potential activities to address these needs. These discussions help ensure that our activity work plans accurately address the health needs of the community. Chronic disease prevention and management, mental health and disability were popular amongst participants.

A detailed report on the workshops key findings will be available in February.

A huge thank you to all staff who gave up their whole Saturday to help facilitate the workshop. Your presence ensured the day ran smoothly and in a professional manner.
