Balmain Hospital Symposium: Sharing local innovations

You are warmly invited to attend the inaugural Balmain Hospital Symposium, which will be held Monday, 7 November 2016 at the Centre for Education and Workforce Development, Rozelle.

Balmain Hospital is a community based hospital which has been caring for people since 1885 and is dedicated to Aged Care, Rehabilitation and General Practice. The symposium will showcase innovative research and quality improvement activities underway at Balmain Hospital.

You will enjoy updates on aged care and rehabilitation from a range of health professionals, including Dementia Nurse Annie Hepworth, who will discuss the management of confused patients as part of the Confused Hospitalised Older Person Study (CHOPS). Physiotherapist Josh Bishop will outline the success of the pulmonary rehabilitation program and you will hear about the latest in aphasia pathways for stroke patients from Speech Pathologists Pip Taylor and Kristen David, as well as safety huddles and falls prevention, the role of environmental services in supporting best practice care, and much more.

General practice, allied health, nursing and other primary care clinicians are welcome. Morning tea and lunch provided. Please register online using the link below for catering purposes. The symposium is free.
