Congratulations to our first GP skin cancer fellows!

Central and Eastern Sydney PHN, along with its partners, would like to congratulate the nine GPs who officially graduated from the first MultiLevel Skin Cancer Fellowship in May this year. These GPs have developed a high level of competence in the detection and treatment of skin cancers, allowing them to provide better care to their patients within their own general practice setting.

If you also would like to build your skills and confidence in managing skin cancers within your practice, enrolments are now open to GPs practising in the St George and Sutherland areas for the next fellowship program, to commence in August 2016.

What is involved?

Participating GPs will be partnered with specialists practising at the Integrated Skin Cancer Centre in Miranda. Each GP will undergo hands-on training supervised by a plastic surgeon and/ or dermatologist to develop their scope of practice in the detection and treatment of skin cancer.

The program is delivered over a half day per week for six months, with additional CPD sessions to provide the theoretical foundation for the clinical training. A commitment of one half day per week is required. There is no cost to the GP to participate in the program.

Where: Integrated Specialist HealthCare, 531-533 Kingsway, Miranda.
When: August to December 2016
