COVID vaccine for healthcare workers

The NSW Health Vaccination Centre at Sydney Olympic Park and the St George Hospital Vaccination Hub have appointments available for all people who work in healthcare, aged care and disability services to be vaccinated against COVID-19. 

Those under 50 years of age are being offered the Pfizer vaccine and those over 50 years of age are being offered AstraZeneca.

These booking links are available for use by any health care worker in NSW, or worker in a clinical area of a health care facility, including public, private and community-based health services. This includes medical professionals, nurses and midwives, allied health staff, dentists, pharmacists, and other people working in clinical health care settings, including receptionists and admin staff.

You will require your Medicare card and mobile phone (for a one time access code) to register via the above links.

COVID-19 vaccine roll-out

Participating general practices are offering Astra Zeneca COVID-19 vaccine to people aged 50 years and over from Monday 17 May. Find your nearest location using this link.

People aged 40-49 years of age can register their interest to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at this link.

Immunisation Advice Line (1800 679 477) https://www.ncirs.org.au/nswiss

1800 NSWISS (1800 679 477) is a telephone advice line providing clinical guidance for immunisation providers across New South Wales. This helpline provides advice on:

  • immunisation, including COVID-19
  • investigation and management of suspected adverse events following immunisation (AEFI)
  • future vaccine doses.

The advice line is open between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

People are surveyed three days after receiving the vaccine and asked to report adverse events. Access the resultshere.

NSW restrictions

Restrictions in Greater Sydney eased on Monday 17 May. Drinking while standing up in an indoor venue is allowed, as are singing indoors and dancing at a nightclub. Masks are no longer compulsory on public transport or for customer-facing staff in hospitality venues.
