Don’t forget the Flu vaccine – Its not too late to vaccinate for 2020

8 September 2020

Influenza cases in the community are at an all-time low but there is still a chance of infection. A record number of influenza vaccines were administered in 2020 but there are still significant numbers of individuals in the community who remain un-protected against this respiratory illness.

For those who have not yet received a 2020 influenza vaccine, getting vaccinated now is encouraged to provide protection during the remainder of the influenza season, the peak period of which is usually June to September in most parts of Australia.

With COVID-19 still circulating throughout our local area, the state and nation-wide, reducing your risk of co-infection with both COVID-19 and Influenza is imperative.

Visit your local GP or pharmacy to enquire about a flu vaccine today. The influenza vaccine is provided free from the government for all children aged 0 up to 5 years of age, people over 65 years and pregnant women along with other at-risk groups.
