Does your allied health organisation have a My Health Record policy in place?

16 December 2019

Some organisations who have registered under the My Health Record (MHR) system are being requested to produce their policies on the access and secure use of the system for an internal review being undertaken by the system operator, the Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA).

The review will examine whether registered healthcare provider organisations are meeting their obligations under the My Health Records Act 2012 in relation to maintaining their eligibility for registration under the My Health Record system. The scope of the review will include an examination of the policy, including whether the organisation has a written policy around staff access to MHR, staff training in the use of MHR and information security measures.

To comply with the request, organisations must provide the policy to the System Operator within seven days of receiving a written request.

Template policies which can be adapted to individual organisations are available on our website here.
