Quality Improvement PIP – First quarter update

4 November 2019

Quality improvement is foundational to high performing practices in primary care. Quality improvement begins with engaged leadership, team-based approaches, peer review, reflection, best practice and data analysis.

Together these components drive the uptake of evidence-based practices for better patient outcomes, enhanced system performance and the improved integration of care.

The PIP QI commenced on 1 August 2019.  CESPHN has successfully supported general practices in the region to participate in the Quality Improvement PIP incentive payment with 314 practices signing up to the incentive. This represents nearly 80 per cent of accredited practices in our region.

CESPHN will continue supporting general practices enroll in PIP QI and assisting general practices undertaking quality improvement activities.

We can help your general practice with:

  • choosing the right data extraction tool and navigate options for submitting data
  • explaining the governance framework for PIP QI
  • provide training on extracting data for the 10 Improvement Measures
  • getting you started and supporting quality improvement activities and
  • helping you understand the meaning of your data and how this information can be used to optimise efficiency and financial benefits for your practice.

Our goal is to make your practices participation in PIPQI as easy as possible – we want to assist.
