Vaccines from community pharmacy - at a glance

9 December 2019

In the past few years, an increasing number of vaccines have been made available direct to the public from community pharmacies as a result of changes in legislation that allow appropriately trained pharmacists to administer vaccines.

Which vaccines can you get from the pharmacy?

A new NCIRS information sheet ‘Vaccines from community pharmacy – at a glance’ (updated Nov 2019) has been developed for consumers and healthcare professionals. This resource provides information on which vaccines you can get from your local pharmacy, who can get them and if these vaccines are free.

It is noted that not all pharmacies will offer vaccination services and consumers should directly contact their local community pharmacy for more information.
