Active Learning Module in Obesity and Cancer

Workshop

The workshop will be held on Saturday the 10th of August at the CESPHN office in Mascot. The sessions will run from 12.30pm to 6pm (5 hours) and are designed to be interactive and covers both obesity as a risk factor for cancer and as a complicating factor in the long term management of cancer and cancer survivors.

Online Module

Participants will also complete a 1-hour interactive online module on obesity and its management in general practice. This may be completed either before or after the workshop.

After completing both the workshop and online module, participants will be asked to complete a brief evaluation.

The workshop has been approved by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners QI&CPD program for 40 points as a Category 1 activity in the 2017-19 Triennium (Activity ID 159327)*.

Please note that this activity can be 'converted' into a Quality Improvement activity by the completion of self-reflection activity after completing the workshop (we will send details on request).

QI is identified as part of the learning process.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Public Transport

The CESPHN office is a 3 minute walk from Mascot Train Station. 

Bus routes out the front of the office building are 400 (Burwood to Bondi Junction) and 410 (Rockdale to Bondi Junction). 

Street Parking

There is plenty of free street parking on Coward Street and nearby residential streets (short walk to the office).
