NSW Health Maternity Care Policy Consultation Workshop

14 May 2019

AMA NSW is encouraging members to participate in the NSW Ministry of Health review process for the maternity care policy Towards Normal Birth in NSW.

We know many members have an interest in maternity policy and we believe it is critical that the views of the medical profession are heard in this process.

The NSW Ministry of Health has arranged additional consultations to make it easier for doctors to attend.

This is an important opportunity for you to have your say on the actions needed to ensure women and babies receive high quality maternity care in NSW.

Wednesday 22 May: targeted consultation workshop for Specialist Obstetricians, obstetric trainees and GPs who provide antenatal/maternity care
6.00 PM – 9.00 PM (Registration begins at 6:00 PM, workshop commences at 6:30 PM)
Location: AMA (NSW) 6/69 Christie Street, St Leonards, NSW 2065 - use this link to book into this workshop.

Following the workshop consultations, the feedback will be collated and considered and a draft Maternity Care Policy will be developed. It is expected that the draft Policy will be released later this year for comment, and stakeholders will have this additional opportunity to provide feedback. Please see the website for further information.
