Recovery and Wellbeing College - AOD Education

15 April 2019

There is increasing evidence to show that social isolation, loneliness and a lack of social connectedness is highly detrimental to a person’s health and wellbeing. At the Recovery and Wellbeing College students get an opportunity to network with others, to learn and grow with a diverse range of students. Students see positive changes in their knowledge, attitudes and skills to related course topics and achieving their recovery and wellbeing goals and ambitions.

If you have patients that are experiencing mental distress and or drug and alcohol issues, suggest the Recovery and Wellbeing College. Family, carers and other support people are also welcome to attend as students. The eligibility criteria is very inclusive and can be found in the annual guide. In most cases if the student is from within the health district attendance is free. There is also no tedious intake process, students self-enrol either from the website or on the hard copy form found in the course guide.

There are eight established alcohol and other drug courses that will be co-facilitated by a Clinical and Peer Educator throughout the year around different sites across the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District catchments. These courses will complement the existing syllabus with around 25 courses being run each term.

Hard copies of the Annual Course Guide and the NEW Term 2 timetable are available now online.

Term 2 2019 drug and alcohol courses include:
