Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA) local support

ABA provides mothers with practical mother-to-mother support and information, enabling them to establish and continue breastfeeding. This support includes local meetings that are run by qualified breastfeeding counsellors. All mums and support people are welcome to attend. More information is available here for groups in the CESPHN region:

ABA also runs the National Breastfeeding Helpline 1800 mum 2 mum (1800 686 268). The Breastfeeding Helpline is available seven days a week. It is staffed by trained, volunteer counsellors who answer calls in their own homes. As breastfeeding mothers, counsellors know that breastfeeding may not always come easily. They can provide reassurance and support, give knowledge about how breastfeeding works and help to overcome common obstacles.

More information about ABA and its range of services is available here.
