New process to improve availability of results for women undertaking Combined First Trimester Screening (cFTS)

RPAH has recently introduced new processes to improve the availability of results for women undertaking cFTS.

For cFTS results to be available at the time of the NT scan, women will be required to have blood collection for biochemistry at least three days prior to their U/S appointment. Blood can be collected from 10 weeks to at least three days prior to U/S appointment and should be collected at either RPAH or Canterbury Hospital Pathology Department.

A Patient Information Sheet has been developed to guide women through the process and Patient Information Brochures regarding prenatal screening have been updated.

For cFTS referral:

Additional Information regarding the new processes is outlined in pdf memo (663 KB)  from RPA FMU.
