What is the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS)?

The NDSS is an initiative of the Australian Government that is administered by Diabetes Australia. The NDSS is free and open to all Australians who are residents, have been diagnosed by a medical practitioner, and who hold a current Australian Medicare Card or Department Veteran Affairs file number. Patients can be referred at any time from diagnosis – regardless of how well managed their diabetes is. The NDSS allows patients access to products and services at subsidised prices and helps to enhance the capacity of people with diabetes to understand and self-manage their life.

To enrol your patients in the NDSS, you can complete a registration form and email to Diabetes NSW & ACT. Further information can be found here.
