Flu Vaccine Ordering Changes - Fluarix Tetra® and FluQuadri®

17 May 2018

National uptake of influenza vaccine has been at unprecedented levels. In order to preserve stock for children aged 3 and 4 years and children with medical risk factors aged 5 to 17 years, please reserve Fluarix Tetra® and FluQuadri® in your fridge for use in this age group. NSW Health will continue to update you throughout the season.

When ordering flu vaccines for children 3-17 years of age for Fluarix Tetra/FluQuadri, practices are advised to order only the amount of vaccines that they anticipate they will need for children in their practice to be vaccinated, rather than ordering a large amount to stock their fridges.

Orders for Fluarix Tetra/FluQuadri must be placed through the Public Health Unit. All other flu vaccines can still be ordered via the online order system. Practices can place orders for the flu vaccine as many times as they need to.

Influenza activity remains low across NSW and the season is not expected to commence until later in the year.
