Expression of interest: Lungs in Action instructor

Central and Eastern Sydney PHN are seeking a minimum of four Accredited Exercise Physiologists or Registered Physiotherapists to facilitate Lungs in Action classes at venues in the Sutherland and Canterbury Local Government Areas.

The classes will run continuously from the middle of August 2017 until the end of June 2018. Instructors may be paid to complete the Lungs in Action Full Instructor Training Package, including their course fees, and both 10 hours of online theory and 10 hours of practical placements. The training to be provided to the successful respondents will be in held in two locations, Miranda and Canterbury.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must be available in one of those locations on all of the following dates:

  • Canterbury: 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 July 2017 from 8.30 am until 11.30 am
  • Canterbury: 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 July 2017 from 8.30 am until 11.30 am
  • Miranda: 17, 20, 24 and 27 July 2017 from 8.30 am until 2pm
  • Miranda: 18, 21, 25 and 28 July 2017 from 12.30 pm until 3.15 pm

In addition, the successful respondents must indicate which exercise classes they will be able to lead. To be successful, a respondent must be able to lead the classes in at least one of the locations, on all days on which that location has classes scheduled, continuously from August 2017 to June 2018. CESPHN will arrange backfill for a maximum of four sessions at each location. The schedule of Lungs in Action training sessions is below.

Venue, day and time

  • Canterbury: Tuesdays and Fridays, 11.30 am - 1 pm
  • Cronulla: Thursdays, 10.30 am - 12 pm
  • Engadine: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10.30 am - 12 pm
  • Lakemba: Mondays and Thursdays, 10 am - 11.30 am
  • Menai: Mondays and Fridays, 11.30 am - 1 pm
  • Miranda: Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10.30 am - 12 pm

Successful respondents must present certificates of currency for the following insurances:

  • Public liability insurance: $10 million
  • Professional indemnity insurance: $5 million

Instructors must also attend a meeting every month with the Staying Well at Home management team at CESPHN’s offices in either Kogarah or Ashfield.
