Suggestions on primary health care services and homelessness in our region

We welcome your suggestions on how to enhance primary health care services for people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness in the Central and Eastern Sydney PHN region.

Sydney Health Community Network (SHCN) is pleased to announce it has recently engaged a consultancy company The Miller Group to:

  • Identify the primary health care service needs of people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in the Central and Eastern Sydney PHN (CESPHN) region; and
  • Recommend strategies to increase the access of this group to primary health care services.

About the project

The project’s primary objective is to:

Improve access to primary health care services by people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in the CESPHN region

The project is time limited. SHCN is keen to ensure that the report and a resultant database of services in the region are comprehensive and identify:

  • Good practice services (both in the CESPHN region and beyond)
  • Current service or information gaps
  • Recommendations for service improvement - especially how primary health care services can better meet the needs of the diverse population of people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
