NDS - NDIS Education for GPs, Allied Health Professionals and Service Providers (Kogarah) - 11 September 2017
Are you prepared for the National Disability Insurance Scheme?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new system of disability support that is being introduced across Australia. The roll out of the NDIS commenced in South Eastern Sydney Local Health District and Sydney Local Health District on 1 July 2017.
The NDIS replaces the existing NSW state system, Department of Family and Community Services (FACS), Ageing Disability and Home Care. When the NDIS is fully operational, an estimated 140,000 people in NSW will be able to access supports. Under the NDIS people will receive individualised funding packages that will enable them to purchase disability supports. The aspiration is that people with disability will be able to participate in the community socially and economically with greater choice and control.
