What is SPconnect service and who can use it?

The SPconnect is a suicide prevention through connection service provides one-on-one care coordination for people of all ages who have attempted suicide and have been discharged from an emergency department, acute setting or following admission to the hospital who can be supported in community and primary care settings within the CESPHN region.

Eligibility

This service is for people of all ages who attempted suicide and have been discharged from an emergency department at St Vincent’s Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital or Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, acute setting or following admission to either hospital.

This is not a crisis service, in an emergency please call triple zero (000). To be put in touch with your local mental health service, call the NSW Mental Health Access Line on 1800 011 511.

How to access the service?

Neami National will be delivering the SPconnect service in partnership with St Vincent’s Hospital (SVH), South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) and Sydney Local Health District (SLHD). A referral can be made through the hospital suicide prevention project officer. The service will be operational from April 2018.
