Specialist Intellectual Disability Health Team Workshop Webinars:

The Specialist Intellectual Disability Health teams of SLHD and SESLHD, in partnership with Central and Eastern Sydney PHN, have developed a series of workshops with the aim to increase awareness of how-to better care for people with intellectual disability in general and allied health practice.

CESPHN's Primary Care Enhancement Program, Project GROW, in partnership with the Sydney and South Eastern Sydney LHD Specialist Intellectual Disability Health teams have recently held:

Oral Health and nutrition for people with intellectual disability 

Inclusive Communication - Improving Health Outcomes for people with Down syndrome

Additional targeted intellectual disability education sessions currently being developed and will be advertised in CESPHN Events Calendar and promoted through CESPHN communication channels.


External Education and Training

Adult Intellectual Disability Mental Health (AIDMH) ECHO 

AIDMH ECHO is a NSW Health capacity building initiative that supports healthcare professionals from diverse disciplines and service settings to improve mental health outcomes for people with an intellectual disability. Through participation, healthcare professionals can develop confidence and specialised knowledge to deliver specialised mental health care to adults with intellectual disability within their own local communities.

Australian Association of Developmental Disability Medicine (AADDM)

AADM is an organisation of medical practitioners, allied health practitioners and others who specialise or have an interest in improving the health and function of over 500,000 Australian children, adolescents and adults with intellectual disability. AADDM aims to improve the health of children, adolescents and adults with intellectual and developmental disability through professional development and advocacy.
